What a way to start the day
Oh dear, there it is again.. The morning alarm ringing in your ear, whilst it’s still dark outside. With eyes half closed and the print of your pillow still on your face, you get up on the wrong side of the bed… Does your day start like this? Don’t worry because Naturalicious is on it’s way to rescue you! With the following tips you will have smoother and happier mornings:
Good night, sleep tight
After a busy day at work running from one appointment to the next, dropping the kids off at school and shopping for groceries a well rested night is important. Even after work, we are still stressing about work, which is why our body is not creating enough sleep hormones for us to get a good night’s sleep.
A lot of people underestimate the importance and benefits of sleep, such as preventing diabetes, heart attacks and depression, whilst boosting energy and happiness. Sleep is vital to ensure your brain if fully charged for the hectic day ahead, allowing yourself to be more productive.
So how do ensure you get a good night’s sleep? We have several tips:
- No heavy meals after 20:00, as they will pressure your stomach, making it harder to sleep.
- Avoid drinking caffeinated drinks like coffee, tea, cola and energy drinks.
- We’re sorry ladies, even chocolate contains stimulants
- Avoid Facebook, emails, Instagram and TV just before bedtime as the blue light emitted blocks the production of melatonin (the sleep hormone).
So our advice is to get rid of all of those distractions at night, turn down those bright lights and light the candles. Or how about a warm shower to prepare your body for a good night of sleep.
I woke up like this
Let’s talk about waking up. After hitting snooze a few too many times, you have to get up. Start with a nice shower to wash away your sleep and feel fresh and clean again to start your day.
Have breakfast like a king
“I don’t eat breakfast.” Well, this is the biggest mistake! We know you’ve heard this before but it really is true. When you wake up your body needs some new fuel. When you skip your breakfast your body will scream for new energy, however resist the temptation to eat products with a lot of sugar. Really not healthy at all! Choose a breakfast with a lot of healthy vitamins and minerals for a good boost. The benefits to eating a healthy breakfast are endless, you will feel brighter and have more energy to last the day.
